MAY 2022


We created an annual hackathon called

HACKAIST. HACKAIST is hosted by the

Industrial Design Department─initiated by

the ASC lab─at KAIST in collaboration with

an external institution or organization.

Hackathon participants have to create

radical solutions in relation to the

challenges posed by experts. 2022 HACKAIST

collaborated with the Dyson School of

Design Engineering at Imperial College

We are happy to announce that our project

Wander will be at SIGGRAPH Asia 2022,​ IEEE

MMSP 2022, and ACM International​ Conference

on Multimedia 2022. This project was led by

​ our PhD student Yuqian Sun.

Prof. Chang Hee Lee has been invted by the

DRS's PhD committee as a panellist. Chang

will discuss the topic "More than Human" on

Jungmin Ryu and Adil Hassan Khan joining as

lab interns.​ Jungmin is

currently studying mechanical engineering at

Yonsei University. Adil is an Industrial

System Engineering student at KAIST.

Yoonji Lee and Haena Cho! Yoonji graduated

 with her BA in Interaction Design from

Korea National University of Art prior to

joining the lab. Haena received 

her BSc in Industrial Design from KAIST.

Welcome to the newly established lab in

Industrial Design Department, College of

Engineering at KAIST. At the Affective

Systems and Cognition lab, we

explore future of our senses, ​creativity,

and wellbeing. Lab,  The lab considers

these three directions as key essence for

​advancing and inspiring the present human

society. The lab develops radical tools,

devices and products to promote new

knowledge ​through progressive thinking.
